About

We specialize in DNA analysis and genomic solutions. We reunite families separated by the Genocide against the Tutsi through a secure DNA database and collaborate with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) on genomic surveillance and personalized medicine. Our mission is to address social and health challenges with cutting-edge genetic technology.

Mission

Our mission at iGiTREE is to harness the power of genomics to reunite families separated during the Genocide against the Tutsi, Families around the world with unresolved war pain and to advance healthcare in Rwanda and in Africa using the same comprehensive DNA database we aim to build, and promote personalized medicine, and conduct genomic surveillance to enhance public health and address pressing medical challenges.

Problem

iGiTREE addresses the critical need for family reunification and advanced healthcare in Rwanda. Many survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi, particularly children, were separated from their families and have no way to reconnect. Additionally, there is a need for comprehensive genomic data to improve healthcare outcomes through personalized medicine and genomic surveillance, particularly for tracking antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The DNA Database we collect becomes useful too in different R&D projects.
